Another memorable day at the ballpark for the 8th edition of the Blachford Tax Law Charity Game!

This year brought plenty of home runs, great competition, and, most importantly, meaningful support for two incredible Ottawa charities. CPAs from 17 firms took the field, with even more colleagues, friends, and family filling the stands to cheer them on.

Team Green Captain Alison Harding-Hlady, leading in honour of the late Brian Hlady, chose to play for the Ottawa Food Bank, while Team Green Captain Helen Ge of Helen Ge CPA played for Ottawa Chamberfest. Ottawa Food Bank received $6,500 as the winning team while Ottawa Chamberfest took home $6,000.

At the end of the day, the real victory was $12,500 raised for two organizations doing important work in our community.

We are incredibly grateful to our sponsors; Audit Shield, Exponent Investment Management, People Corporation, and Xero whose support helped make the Charity Game possible.

We also extend our sincere thanks to Video Tax News, Wolters Kluwer, Parker Prins Lebano Chartered Accountants, Helen Ge Professional Corporation, HW Partners, BDO Canada, Pauline Blachford, Primrose Watson, Jacline McArthur, and Justice Cameron McArthur for their generous contributions to this year's charities.

Thank you to every player, sponsor, donor, charity representative, volunteer, and fan who joined us. The softball makes the day fun, but the people and the causes behind it are what make the Blachford Tax Law Charity Game so special.

We are already looking forward to getting everyone back on the diamond next year, stay tuned!
