Justice St-Hilaire appointed Chief Justice of the Tax Court of Canada
Blachford Tax Law is thrilled with the appointment of Justice St-Hilaire as the next Chief Justice of the Tax Court of Canada. Justice St-Hilaire has an incredible track record of serving Canadian taxpayers and advancing our Canadian tax system, not to mention educating the next generation of legal professionals. She was also a mentor of Dean’s prior to her appointment to the Court. Watch this video to get a feel for her commitment to access to justice and her respect for the accounting profession.
Chief Justice St-Hilaire is the first woman to have this role. It is long overdue.
We also congratulate former Chief Justice Rossiter on his leading the Court and his new role as a supernumerary judge. Justice Rossiter was the Associate Chief Justice when Dean was working at the Court and was always great about sending Tax Court Judges to speak at our CPA Ottawa Annual Tax Update. At our 2020 Tax Update, he attended himself and gave a riveting presentation.
